Happy Wesak Day everyone ! It is PUBLIC HOLIDAY today.
Wesak day here is known to be celebrated by the Buddhist in the Indian subcontinent, Nepal, Sri Lanka and South East Asian which is also known as Buddhist Birthday. It is said that the exact date used in the lunar calenders is different in traditions. Malaysia is one of the Asian countries that celebrates this festival. The festival is really beautiful. As Malaysia is known to have all kind of races, we can celebrate all kind of festivals and get to know more about their culture. Foods is the main attraction over here.

So what did i do for the day? Like a normal day exactly.
My mum cooked vegetarian food as Wesak Day marks the day of vegetarian for most Buddhist. It is not a must for all Buddhist to be a vegetarian a day but it is up to your willingness. Religion don't force someone to do the things they don't like.
Though its a day off but it is still a hectic day with reports and assignments. I still enjoyed the half day festival that my family celebrated. Weather was nice to me and of course the food that my mum cooked was awesome. Definitely the good cooker in the house.
It is nice to celebrate events like this over here. Attend most of the festival they have here. You can know more about them and their foods as well as cultures.
Besides Wesak Day, there is also Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Deepavali, Christmans, Chap Goh May and so on that we celebrate here which made us have one of the most richest culture in the world. Satu Malaysia ~
